SKELETON WOMAN.

The sea and the sky by DAC Crowell

Forward: I am currently reading 'The Road Less Travelled' by M. Scott Peck, and 'women who run with the wolves' by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.. The books were recommended to me.. one by Kate who works for 'Adam F's label' 'Breakbeat Chaos'. When Kate mentioned the book, her eyes lit up, in a way that only a woman who wants to 'empower' another woman shines. I want to thank Kate for her recommendation because this book is really what I needed in my life right now. I was so inspired by the short story 'Skeleton Woman' that I decided to do a 'comic life' using bits of it. I also want to thank Dygyital who is a DJ in second life, who teleported over to me to play the role of the fisherman. It was very very funny asking him to do certain animations and he didn't have a clue what i was up to hehe.. So thanks Dyg - here it is. I would also quickly like to share a little bit of a chapter in 'The Road Less Travelled' about 'risk of loss'. Weirdly I opened this book up on this chapter today.

RISK OF LOSS (from 'The Road Less Travelled) page 140.

The act of love - extending oneself - as I have said, requires a moving out against the inertia of laziness (work) or the resistance engendered by fear (courage). Let us turn now from the works of love to the courage of love. When we extend ourselves, our self enters new and unfamililar territory, so to speak. Our self becomes a new and different self. We do things we are not accustomed to do. We change.
The experience of change, of unaccustomed activity, of being on unfamiliar ground, of doing things differently is frightening. It always was and always will be. People handle their fear of change in different ways, but the fear is inescapable of fear; it is the making of action in spite of fear, the moving out against the resistance engendered by fear into the unknown and into the future. On some level spiritual growth, and therefore love, always requires courage and involves risk. It is the risking of love that we will now consider.

On a Final note I just want to add that I always listen to DAC Crowell from MAGNATUNE when I do the comic lifes..

This is a really nice post Kirsty.
It is very well written and executed and sensual. It could be even more sensual though.Intimate love is always so remarkably beautiful;( I dont mean outright porn by that).
I love the story, I can relate somewhat to that poor fisherman and skeleton woman, who both get lucky in the end. :)
And sigh, I wish I could have had the part of the fisherman. :(
Oh well, maybe you will consider me some day for a "casting call".
I really like these posts, Kirsty, they are always tremendous fun to read. Even though we sometimes may be on different wavelengths they always teach me something and bring me joy.

I'm an idiot for not coming here sooner. I think I always assumed you were only posting what we saw on myspace, and I didn't realize there was so much more.

This comic was a very interesting metaphor. I say always that you're brilliant, you have such a creative and interesting way of presenting important messages.

I'm glad your books are doing you well. I love wolves.

"On some level spiritual growth, and therefore love, always requires courage and involves risk."

That whole part you copied was very intense. I certainly agree with the author. I might have to look for that book.

Glad to see you're doing well. I'll be back in the coming days to check out the rest of these comics, I see I've missed a lot. You're quite the character.

Peace of course,
Robert

Wow..I'm flattered that you considered me!
And I though about this wonderful story all day; I just couldnt get it out of my mind. As I pondered, the story and its theme and lessons became even more important to me. I will always remember this and the wonderful way you put it into visuals.Im reading it again because I love it so much. You should post it on MYspace because some people may miss out.
